First Prediction For Exeter City vs Nottingham Forest – Taiwo Awoniyi To Score – 3/4
The FA Cup offers Nottingham Forest a chance to rest their first team as they target a place in the Champions League next season. With Chris Wood the lynchpin of their top four ambitions, it is likely we will see Taiwo Awoniyi start in Devon on Tuesday. He was given the majority of the game in their previous FA Cup match against Luton Town and it is likely that Nuno will do the same this weekend. With the way Forest set up to focus play through the striker, he will have plenty of opportunities to grab a goal in this game.
Second Prediction For Exeter City vs Nottingham Forest – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 12/25
Nottingham Forest have been ruthless with their opponents in recent matches, with their last game being an utter demolition of Brighton & Hove Albion, winning 7-0. They have comfortably scored multiple goals in games across the season, averaging 1.67 per game in the Premier League, which ranks them ninth in the division. Whilst their third-round victory may not have been as comfortable as they like against Luton Town, they face an out-of-form Exeter City side and there should be plenty of goals scored.
Third Prediction For Exeter City vs Nottingham Forest – Nottingham Forest To Win – 1/4
It is very hard to look past Nottingham Forest in this game. They are in fine form and whilst having a much rotated squad could open the door to an upset the brilliance of Nottingham Forest is in how they control games. Their measured approaches have seen them stump Liverpool and most of the Premier League this campaign. The FA Cup of course does produce its upsets but with the way Exeter City are playing right now it does not feel very likely that they will be able to best the two-time winners.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head
Exeter City have been on a torrid run in their league games, with their last win coming in the FA Cup Third Round win against Oxford United. Since then they have lost four and drawn once, conceding 15 goals in the process. The heaviest loss was at home against Leyton Orient, losing 6-2, with their most recent game being a similarly scathing 4-1 loss to Stevenage. Only Mansfield Town are in worse form right now in the third tier. They have plummeted down towards the relegation battle in League One, and are eight points above Burton Albion in 21st place.
Nottingham Forest are still thriving at the top of the Premier League with some well-earned results across the season. Whilst not at the scintillating pace they were at towards the end of 2024, they have done well to maintain their position in the top four. They beat Luton Town to advance into the fourth round of the FA Cup, and since then, they drew to Liverpool, beat Southampton and suffered a slight bump with a 5-0 humbling by Bournemouth. However, they bounced back with a demolition of Brighton and Hove Albion.
This will be the first competitive meeting between these two teams since 1951. The Grecians have never beaten Forest, losing twice and drawing as many games.
