1st Prediction For Plymouth Argyle v Liverpool: Asian Handicap – Liverpool -2 – 8/11

Liverpool should win this match and win it comfortably. They have scored close to two and a half goals per game this season on average and have won 17 of 23 league matches. Plymouth have had a dreadful season so far, allowing 2.1 goals against them per match. Even with a changed side, Arne Slot’s Liverpool should be far to strong for the Championship strugglers.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:

Plymouth Argyle go into this match against the runaway Premier League leaders sitting bottom of the Championship and with just one win in five matches. Argyle have played 30 league matches and have only won five of those this season and collecting just 25 points.

Last time out, the Pilgrims managed a late comeback victory against West Bromwich Albion at Home Park. Jayson Molumby had given the visitors the lead before a Ryan Hardie brace secured all three points to keep his side in touch at the foot of the table. Prior to that win, Plymouth had made the long journey to Sunderland where they found themselves 2-1 down in the 90th minute having taken the lead with half an hour left. Nathanael Ogbeta struck from the edge of the six yard box to rescue a dramatic point and send the away support into delirium.

Three of Argyle’s top scorers are no longer with the club as Andre Gray, Ibrahim Cissoko and Morgan Whittaker have all left the club during the January transfer window. Their departures leave Mustapha Bundu, Rami Al Hajj and Ryan Hardie as leading scorers with three apiece. On average this season, Plymouth have managed to score one goal per game but have conceded over two.

Liverpool have lost just once in the Premier League all season, a 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest in September. Arne Slot’s side are six points clear of their nearest rivals Arsenal with a game in hand as they look to claim a second Premier League title. Mo Salah has been in blistering form this season and has already smashed 21 goals and added 13 assists for for his team. The Reds have conceded less than a goal per game and have plundered 2.4 goals themselves.

The last two meetings between these sides have been in the FA Cup and took place in 2017 in the 3rd round and the subsequent replay. At Anfield a young Liverpool side containing Trent Alexander-Arnold and Emre Can were held to a goalless draw by Derek Adams’ League One Argyle. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had to look to the bench and called upon Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino in an attempt to avoid a replay but the Pilgrims held on to take the Premier League giants back to Home Park.

Klopp named a similar side for the replay but included Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho from the start. Over 17,000 packed into Home Park to watch as a Lucas Leiva header inside 20 minutes was enough to settle the tie and send Liverpool through.
