Queens Park Rangers Seal Agreement With Youth International

Queens Park Rangers have agreed a pre-contract move for Perth Glory attacking midfielder Jaylan Pearman, according to journalist Anthony Joseph.

The 18-year-old Australian youth international will join the Championship club once his current deal expires in June.

One for the Future

Pearman has made five appearances in the A-League this season, registering one goal and one assist. Having progressed through Perth Glory’s youth system, he was recently promoted to the senior squad, where he has impressed with his technical ability and composure on the ball.

“Jaylan is the future of this club. He’s been unbelievable in training. He was in the NPL, he’s gained strength, and because he’s gained that strength, I felt comfortable that he was able to come in,” said Perth Glory boss David Zdrilic.

QPR’s Ambitions

Currently sitting 13th in the Championship and six points off the play-off places, QPR are looking to build for the future while maintaining their push for promotion. While Pearman is not expected to join until the summer, his arrival signals the club’s intent to invest in emerging talent.

The R’s have been in decent form but suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in their last outing. With the January transfer window still open, further reinforcements could arrive before the deadline.

Perth Glory’s Loss

Pearman’s impending departure is a blow for Perth Glory, who currently sit 12th in the A-League, just four points above the bottom-placed Brisbane Roar. The youngster has been highly regarded within the club’s setup, featuring regularly at youth levels before making the step up to the first team.

However, with a move to England on the horizon, Pearman is expected to remain with Perth Glory for the remainder of the A-League season, providing him with more valuable first-team minutes before linking up with QPR.

Writer’s View

QPR’s move for Jaylan Pearman highlights their commitment to securing young, promising talent. The midfielder’s technical ability and attacking instincts make him a player with high potential, and his development in Australia will serve him well ahead of his move to England. While Pearman’s immediate impact may not be felt at Loftus Road, he could prove to be a smart long-term investment for the club.
