1st Prediction For Leeds United vs Norwich City: Leeds United to win 19/50

Daniel Farke’s Leeds United team are currently the Championship pacesetters and they have not lost a game since the end of November. Even though it is not the most fruitful prediction, the Whites are firm favourites heading into Wednesday’s encounter. Farke’s mantra for winning promotion is that his team must win two points per game on average; currently Leeds are exceeding that target as they have accumulated 56 points in 27 Championship games. Their opponents on Wednesday, Norwich City, are missing some important players and that has led to them losing their last two games against Brighton and Hove Albion and Sheffield United. These losses, even if they are against high-quality opposition, could lead to the Canaries lacking confidence at Elland Road and it will be something that Leeds will look to pounce on.

2nd Prediction For Leeds United vs Norwich City: Leeds United to win and both teams to score: no 31/25

A slightly more fruitful prediction would be predicting Leeds to win and Norwich to not score. Johannes Hoff Thorup’s side are without the Championship’s top scorer, Borja Sainz, due to suspension whilst striker Josh Sargent is only just working his way back to fitness after suffering an injury. These absences have seen the canaries register just one shot on target in the last two games. Additionally, Leeds are one of the best defensive teams in the Championship. They have kept the third-most clean sheets and, most impressively, conceded the least xG against of any team in the second tier. Had goalkeeper Illan Meslier been performing at his very best, the Whites could have been rivalling Burnley’s outstanding defensive record of conceding just nine times in 27 games. Without their key attackers and given Leeds’ underlying defensive performance, breaching Meslier’s net on Wednesday could prove a struggle for Norwich.

3rd Prediction For Leeds United vs Norwich City: Manor Solomon to score any time 49/20

The Leeds attack has been firing on all cylinders in recent weeks and Tottenham Hotspur loanee Manor Solomon has been key to this. The 25-year-old has scored four times in 21 games since joining Daniel Farke’s side and he scored the opening goal against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday. Daniel Farke clearly values Solomon’s ability as he is the only attacker to start in each of the last three games for Leeds and he has forced the likes of Wilfried Gnonto to wait for opportunities on the bench. Furthermore, Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn has one of the worst save percentages and by far the worst xG prevented in the Championship this season which should make predicting Solomon to score on Wednesday reasonably likely and also quite fruitful. The main risk associated with this prediction is to do with Solomon’s fitness.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head

Leeds come into the game sitting in first place in the Championship having won three of their last five league games. Norwich City currently sit in 11th place and, although they have picked up 10 points in their last five league games, a four-nil loss against Brighton in the FA Cup has slightly dampened the Canaries’ recent numbers. But, Johannes Hoff Thorup’s men are still only five points off the playoff positions and he will hope that, once key duo Josh Sargent and Borja Sainz are back, they will be able to comfortably secure a place in the top six.

As for Daniel Farke, he will expect his side to win on home turf and keep their one point lead at the top of the Championship intact as they are in the midst of a tense race for automatic promotion. Wednesday’s game will be the sixth time that the two teams have played each other since the beginning of last season and Daniel Farke has generally had the better results against his former club. Leeds have won three and drawn two of their last five meetings, including a famous four-nil win at Elland Road which secured Leeds’ place at Wembley for last season’s playoff final.
