Our 3 Predictions For Millwall v Hull City:

  • 1st Prediction For Millwall v Hull City: Match Result – Millwall – 1/1
  • 2nd Prediction For Millwall v Hull City: Over 2.5 Goals – 7/5
  • 3rd Prediction For Millwall v Hull City: Romain Esse To Score Anytime – 9/2

1st Prediction For Millwall v Hull City: Match Result – Millwall – 1/1

Millwall have won six of their 13 home matches and have only conceded 10 goals in that spell. Hull City have won only twice in 18 matches, a run stretching right the way back to the start of October and have lost seven on the road this season.

2nd Prediction For Millwall v Hull City: Over 2.5 Goals – 7/5

Neither of these sides score a lot of goals but Millwall have managed five in their last two and Hull have scored on four occasions in the same period. The Tigers have defensive frailties that will give Alex Neil’s Millwall hope of claiming the three points.

3rd Prediction For Millwall v Hull City: Romain Esse To Score Anytime – 9/2

Romain Esse has already scored four times times this season and ranks highly among his fellow wingers when it comes to shots and shots on target. He only has one goal since October but with his successful dribbling, keenness to take a shot and Hull’s defensive weaknesses, Esse will be keen to add to his tally on Saturday.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:

Millwall had, at one stage, looked as if they could mount a playoff challenge but they head into this fixture 14th in the Championship and closer to the relegation places than the top six.

New manager Alex Neil has not long been in the building and tasted victory for the first time on Monday when his side knocked Dagenham and Redbridge out of the FA Cup at The Den.  The former Stoke City boss saw his debut as Millwall manager end in defeat to Oxford United but his new side did manage a battling draw at Sheffield Wednesday three days later.

The teams run of form must be a concern for fans and may have them looking over their shoulders at those below. Since winning four in a row across a two week period at the end of October into November, including impressive wins over Burnley and Leeds United, the Lions have managed just one league win in 11 matches.

Hull City are another side with a new manager in the dugout, with former Reading boss Ruben Selles taking charge in December. The Spaniard has been in charge for eight matches, achieving two win, two draws and suffering four defeats.

The Tigers currently occupy 23rd in the Championship table, a point from safety, having taken 23 points from 26 games. Since a mid season friendly in Turkey in October, City have won just two of their 17 league outings and claiming just 11 points in that time.

Selles’ men go into this with just two clean sheets all season and conceding an average of 1.4 goals per game.

Over their last 20 matches against each other, these sides cannot be separated and have both won seven apiece. The meeting earlier this season ended goalless despite nearly 30 shots on target in the match. The two encounters last season saw Hull City remain unbeaten, leaving The Den with a point and claiming all three at The MKM Stadium. The first meeting in London ended 2-2 Duncan Watmore putting Millwall ahead inside 10 minutes before Jaden Philogene-Bidace pulled The Tigers level and Adama Traore nudged them ahead five minutes later. Joe Bryan rescued a point for the hosts nine minutes into the second half. The reverse fixture in Hull saw Jaden Philogene-Bidace again get on the scoresheet, this time after just five minutes with what proved to be the winning the goal.

The most recent win for Millwall came back in 2022 courtesy of goals from Scott Malone and Tom Bradshaw.  The Lions ran out 2-1 winners in this Easter Monday fixture as Tom Eaves pulled a late goal back for the visitors.
