Swansea City goalkeeper Andy Fisher has completed a loan move to St Johnstone for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, pending international clearance.
The 26-year-old heads to the Scottish Premiership side as they fight to avoid relegation, bringing both experience and determination to their squad.
Valuable Game Time After Injury
Fisher’s move offers him the chance to gain critical game time after missing most of this season recovering from a groin injury sustained during pre-season training, which required surgery. The loan represents an opportunity for the shot-stopper to prove himself at a pivotal moment in his career.
The goalkeeper has been with Swansea since joining from MK Dons in January 2022. Before that, Fisher had spells at Blackburn Rovers, FC United of Manchester, and Northampton Town. Since arriving in Wales, Fisher has made 49 appearances for the Swans, showcasing his skillset and versatility.
“I am very happy to be here. I am eager to play some games and to prove myself. I am hoping to show everyone what I can do and it is going to be a good challenge,” Fisher said. “The club has shown real interest in me from the start, and I now want to come in and help the team as much as possible.”

Fitting Into St Johnstone’s Style
Fisher highlighted his enthusiasm for joining St Johnstone, praising the club’s head coach for his confidence and belief in his abilities. “The head coach told me how much he wanted me and how much he likes me as a goalkeeper and a person. I can’t speak highly enough of him, and the way he wants to play football suits the way I want to play too,” Fisher added.
The goalkeeper also detailed his playing style, describing himself as a composed player with the ball at his feet and a strong shot-stopper. He noted his ability to keep a high line, sweep up from the back, and contribute to set-pieces and crosses, making him a versatile addition to the St Johnstone squad.
