Wrexham’s 19-year-old defender Aaron James has revealed he is open to a loan move this winter to gain valuable first-team experience.
With limited opportunities at the Racecourse Ground, the youngster believes a temporary stint in the National League or National League North would greatly aid his development.
James’ Perspective on a Loan Move
James has made three appearances in cup competitions this season, scoring once, but remains down the pecking order due to the club’s depth in defensive options. Speaking to The Leader, he said:
“Getting exposure to men’s football, like in these games, is good but a loan to maybe National League or National League North will be really beneficial for me. I think having that attitude and playing in those games, where you have to ‘die for three points,’ is really important in the development of myself and any young player. Going on loan is something I would definitely be open to.”
He added: “Playing at the highest level possible with the first team is definitely the aim for me, but we’ll see what happens.”

A product of Wrexham’s academy, he has been with the club his entire career, signing his first professional deal in 2021. He made his debut in January 2023 in an FA Trophy match against Altrincham and has since featured sporadically.
