Halifax Town Boss Makes Transfer Admisson – One In Before Weekend?

FC Halifax Town manager Chris Millington has revealed plans to add a new signing to his squad ahead of Saturday’s National League fixture against Barnet.

The addition, expected to be a loan deal, could be finalised within the next 48 hours as Halifax looks to strengthen its options.

Loan Deal in the Works

Millington confirmed the club is close to sealing a deal for a player who is well-known to the squad and capable of improving their overall strength.

“We’re hopeful there’ll be an announcement in the next couple of days on a player we know and who will improve the strength of the squad,” Millington told the Courier.

While conversations about additional reinforcements are ongoing, Millington remains optimistic about concluding this first signing quickly.

Future of Billy Waters Uncertain

When asked about extending striker Billy Waters’ loan deal, which expires next month, Millington explained that the decision would largely depend on multiple factors.

“We won’t know until January, and that’s largely going to depend on what Wrexham choose to do, what Billy chooses to do and, unfortunately, thirdly, what we want to do.”

Waters has been a key figure for Halifax since joining on loan from Wrexham, and clarity over his future will likely be a priority as January approaches.

Injury Updates: Sutcliffe and George Close to Return

Millington also provided encouraging updates on the recovery of defender Harvey Sutcliffe and forward Adan George, who are edging closer to fitness.

“Harvey’s back out running on the grass, so him and Adan are back in a positive place,” said Millington. “We hope they’ll be available for us in the next ten days to two weeks.”

Looking Ahead

Halifax’s upcoming clash against Barnet will be a significant test, and Millington’s hopes of securing reinforcements in time could provide a timely boost. The Shaymen are aiming to maintain momentum as they push for a strong run of results during the festive period.
