Future of Bromley Star Uncertain: Parent Club Yet To Decide

Millwall manager Neil Harris has confirmed that no decision has yet been made regarding Kamarl Grant’s future at Bromley, with the 21-year-old defender’s loan deal set to expire in January.

Grant, who has been a key player for Bromley in League Two this season, could see his loan extended for the remainder of the campaign, depending on discussions between the clubs.

Grant’s Progress Impresses Millwall

Grant has started every league match for Bromley this term, helping the newly-promoted side adapt to life in League Two. Harris praised the young defender’s development and the strong working relationship between Millwall and Bromley.

“It’s a good question,” said Harris. “We haven’t had those discussions yet. What I will say is that we’re really pleased with Kamarl’s development, progress and our relationship with Bromley. He’s really enjoying himself.”

The Lions boss also highlighted the value of the coaching and mentorship Grant receives at Bromley. He is working closely with Alan Dunne, a Millwall favourite, and plays alongside experienced former Millwall players like Byron Webster and Ben Thompson. This setup, Harris noted, has been instrumental in Grant’s progress.

Close Monitoring Ahead of Key Decision

Harris and his coaching team have been actively monitoring Grant’s performances, with Harris himself watching the defender in action and assistant manager Adam Barrett attending a recent match against Carlisle. Grant’s consistent displays have impressed the Millwall staff, leaving open the possibility of extending his loan to support his development further.

Bromley, meanwhile, will likely be eager to retain Grant, given his contributions to their defensive stability. The decision now rests on whether Millwall sees more value in recalling the young defender to The Den or allowing him to continue his growth with regular game time in League Two.

Writer’s View

Kamarl Grant’s loan spell at Bromley has been a win-win for both clubs so far, showcasing the benefits of strategic loan agreements. While Millwall must weigh the potential benefits of bringing him back into their fold, extending his loan could provide the regular first-team experience essential for his development. The strong connections between the two clubs ensure that Grant remains in a supportive environment, making an extension a logical choice.
