According to recent reports, Former Sunderland and West Ham manager David Moyes is in line to be considered for four potential managerial roles in the Premier League.
Moyes, who has been out of management since his departure from West Ham last season, could be a target for struggling clubs such as Crystal Palace, Wolves, Southampton, and Leicester City as they look to stabilise their campaigns.
Interest in Moyes Following West Ham Success
The Scottish manager left West Ham after guiding the team to a Europa Conference League title during his second spell with the club. His tenure saw the Hammers achieve European success and solid league standings, adding to his experience at various levels of the English game.
Prior to his time with West Ham, Moyes managed Sunderland during the 2016/17 season, which ended in relegation from the Premier League. Despite the challenges with the Black Cats, Moyes has maintained a reputation for steady leadership.
According to an update from talkSPORT, all four Premier League clubs may soon be evaluating their managerial options due to recent struggles. Moyes could be viewed as a viable replacement if any of these teams seek a change in leadership.
“I don’t know yet, I don’t know. I’ve not made that decision yet and I don’t want to make that decision. I just want to see how it goes. I’ve had some really nice enquiries from clubs and countries as well at different times, but I’m just taking my time and we’ll see how it goes,” Moyes said, remaining non-committal about his future.
Andy Robertson Signing
While Moyes has not confirmed any specific plans to return, his recent appearances in the media have kept him in the spotlight. In a discussion on The Overlap podcast, he shared an anecdote about nearly securing a deal for Liverpool’s Andy Robertson during his time at Sunderland.
“I was the manager at Sunderland at the time, and I met his agents and tried to sort out a deal to get him to come from Hull to Sunderland, but at that time, Hull and Sunderland were both near the bottom of the league and in competition.”
