Grimsby Town‘s Jordan Davies has returned to the club following completing his rehab for a hamstring injury.
The Wrexham midfielder had been loaned to Blundell Park over the summer but an injury just four games into his time there has left him on the sidelines for over two months. He was forced off the field in the first half of The Mariners’ match against Notts County following positive performances against Cheltenham Town and Bradford City.
Red Dragons Boss Confirms Return
Speaking to the Wrexham Leader, Phil Parkinson has confirmed that Davies has returned to North Lincolnshire after doing his rehab back in North Wales.
“Jordan did the first part of his rehab here until we got him back running and doing bits of football. Now he’s been passed back to Grimsby because he can start joining in with some training so he is back over there.
“Jordan is looking in good shape. He worked hard on his rehab. We are monitoring all the players out on loan and we hope Jordan can get back in and get some game time.
“He only played a couple of games before the injury but he had that one outstanding game where he scored two goals which we know Jordan can do.
“Unfortunately he got the bad injury against Notts County and we just hope between now and January, he gets some valuable minutes.”
Writer’s View
Jordan Davies is back for Grimsby Town and that will be a big boost for David Artell’s side. They have done brilliantly without him but in his brief appearances at the start of the season, he was a brilliant star in the heart of that side. The former Brighton man is on loan until the end of the season but Parkinson’s words do hint that a recall could be on the cards should he not play enough for The Mariners. He does have a battle on his hands to reclaim a first-team place as Luca Barrington has delivered since ascending to the starting 11 upon Davies’ injury.
