Blackburn Rovers manager John Eustace has discussed how pleased he is with the start his side has made to the new campaign, as reported on the Blackburn Rovers’ website.
Rovers have started the season by taking 19 points from their opening 12 matches and find themselves occupying the final playoff spot.
We’ve Had A Fantastic Start
Rovers have yet to taste defeat at home this season, claiming maximum points from five of the six matches played at Ewood Park and are preparing to face promotion-chasing Sheffield United this weekend.
Eustace’s side has found different ways to win this season and the manager believes his side is ready to face whatever tactics are employed by opponents.
“It’s vitally important that the supporters come and they’re very proud of the team due to the effort coming from the players.”
The former Birmingham City gaffer is keen for the positive start to continue.
“At the moment, we’ve had a fantastic start at home and we want that to continue.”
He was also pleased with the way his side has managed to come out on top against different styles.
“It’s important to get the right balance. We’ve come up against two very tactical teams in the last two home games against Swansea and West Brom who play different styles of football.”
“Previously, we played against a couple of teams that were more open and allowed us to play.”
“We’re coming up against some real top teams now where teams will come to Ewood, play their own game and not worry about us, which might be great for us.”
Writer’s View
Blackburn have been strong at home this season but are in the middle of a tricky run, with just one win in their last five games. They will need to perform at their best to get anything against Chris Wilder’s Blades.
Many expected the Ewood Park side to struggle this season but they have shown an ability to grind out results and beat different systems. It is vital that they keep up their impressive home form if they wish to maintain a playoff challenge.
