West Bromwich Albion could potentially lose star winger Tom Fellows in January, with a Premier League club watching the 21-year-old.
Carlos Corberan’s side have put themselves well in the mix so far this season in the Championship and despite a five-game winless run, are still in the play-off places. Fellows has already racked up five assists so far this season but has struggled in recent weeks, coinciding with West Brom’s tough spell.
Toffees Watching From The Wings
According to journalist Alan Nixon, Everton are interested in the England youth international, who is contracted at The Hawthorns until 2027. He signed a new deal just this January, his first major deal in the West Midlands since ascending the ranks to become a staple of the first team.
The Merseyside club have been consistently struggling for goals over the past few seasons and despite the summer signing of former Sheffield United man Iliman Ndiaye, are currently the sixth-lowest scoring side in the Premier League.
Last night may bring further urgency to Sean Dyche’s need for further reinforcements on the wings, with ex-Burnley man Dwight McNeil being forced off the pitch against Fulham. He has been The Toffees’ stand-out player this campaign, with three goals and assists each to his name.
Last summer also saw Everton bring in Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom on loan, but he has failed to make an impact in the seven appearances he has racked up so far.
Writer’s View
Tom Fellows seems a crucial part of Carlos Corberan’s West Brom side so if he leaves this summer it does become a big worry. The Baggies should look to offload players elsewhere before being forced into selling a crucial player like the winger. With the good start Albion have had so far, Fellows may be convinced to at least wait until the summer when it will be clearer as to which division the club will be in next season.
