League One Manager Outlines On Sheffield Wednesday Loanee Game Time

As Lincoln City head into their upcoming clash with Stockport County, head coach Michael Skubala has hinted at his ideal front-line pairing, although injuries and availability continue to limit his choices.

The Imps’ recent form in front of goal has come under scrutiny, with only one goal scored and six conceded across their last three fixtures, prompting fans and analysts alike to question Skubala’s striking options.

Cadamarteri’s Role in Skubala’s Offensive Setup

Bailey Cadamarteri, Lincoln’s promising loanee from Sheffield Wednesday and a recent scorer against Birmingham City, has seen limited action in recent weeks, starting just three League One matches. Despite his strong debut and potential to boost the squad’s goal-scoring capabilities, Skubala notes that Cadamarteri’s role needs to adapt depending on his strike partner.

“Bailey’s still new to us and still trying to grow,” Skubala said in his pre-match press conference. “When he plays with Freddie, or with Ben, it’s slightly different. And when Jovan’s in, or when House is there, again, it’s different. House has been out for a bit, Jovan’s been out for a bit, and Freddie’s been in and out, same with Bailey. But they’re all contributing, which is the most important thing. They just need to be a little more threatening for us.”

Skubala maintains that the team’s attacking edge has yet to reach full potential, acknowledging that scoring goals and increasing pressure inside the box remain top priorities for all forwards. He also expressed his frustration at the limited selection options and emphasized the need for a more consistent and potent strike partnership to propel Lincoln back into form.

“So I know my front two, if I’m honest. I know who the best two are, but they’re not always available for selection at the moment. That doesn’t mean the others can’t have an effect…they have to score goals and be more threatening in front of goal for me.”

With home games against Stockport and Northampton on the horizon, Lincoln City fans will be hopeful that Skubala’s forwards can find the cohesion and sharpness required to turn the team’s recent goal drought around.

Writer’s View

Skubala’s strategy appears to rest on Cadamarteri’s shoulders, yet his limited time on the pitch raises questions about his potential impact. As Lincoln struggle to find their rhythm in attack, fans will be watching closely to see if Skubala’s preferred strike duo materializes or if the mix-and-match strategy continues to impact their offensive game.
