Milton Keynes Dons are interested in bringing Newcastle United youngster Joe White to the club on loan reports Pete O’Rourke.
White had represented the Magpies at Under-18 and Under-21 level before he made four brief cameos for Eddie Howe’s side in the Premier League in the second half of last season.
The attack-minded midfielder had his first foray into senior football in the second half of the 2021/22 season when he went on loan to Hartlepool United.
After 15 games in League Two for the Pools, White joined League One side Exeter City on loan in January 2023.
Unfortunately, this spell was not as successful for White as he only started six games in the third division.
This led the Carlisle-born midfielder to drop back into League Two as he joined Crewe Alexandra on loan in September 2023.
The former England youth international finally seemed to find his feet in senior football as he scored three times and provided three assists in 25 games for Crewe before his loan deal expired in January.
As Newcastle’s injury crisis which plagued them throughout much of last season has seemingly ended, White has found opportunities in a Magpies shirt much more limited and he is yet to feature for the Premier League giants so far this season.
Meanwhile, MK Dons have endured a slow start to the season after former Newcastle United man Mike Williamson almost guided them to promotion last season despite only taking over at Stadium MK in October. A new signing would provide a further boost to the camp after a good three-nil victory over Carlisle last week.

Mike Williamsons’ system is notoriously attacking and it could suit a player like White who is able to run with the ball at his feet and create chances. It will also give the 21-year-old an opportunity to have a full season in senior football with the same club, something which Newcastle have been unable to provide for him so far.
That being said, he will have to work very hard to get into the team over the current first-choice midfield pairing of Connor Lemonheigh-Evans and Tom Carroll. He will either have to prove his versatility and play further forward or be patient and wait for an injury or suspension before taking his chance.
