Bromley Linked With Premier League Youngster

According to recent reports by Journalist Alan Nixon, Bromley are likely to move for Crystal Palace youngster Danny Imray by the end of this transfer window.

The highly-rated Premier League youngster started his career at Chelmsford City where he played primarily as a number 10,  scoring 23 goals in just eleven appearances for the under-18’s side. He went on to make his senior debut for the club in an Essex Cup quarter-final game against Concord Rangers.

Following his move to Palace, the 20-year-old became a key player for the club’s U21 side. Following a remarkable season that saw the right-back net nine goals and nine assists in 36 appearances in their Premier League international cup triumph, Imray was also called up to the senior squad for a friendly appearance against Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt.

The London-born man, who can play as a right-back, an attacking midfielder, and a right-sided midfielder, has been identified by Andy Woodman as a potential signing for the newly promoted outfit.

Following a historic campaign last season, Bromley were promoted to the football league for the first time in their history after a nail-biting penalty victory in the promotion playoff final over Solihull Moors.

Preparations have already begun at Hayes Lane as the club prepares for their debut EFL campaign, with the club already being active in the transfer market following the signings of Arsenal youngster Taylor Foran, Sam Long, and  National League talisman Marcus Dinaga.

Despite this being their first season ever in the football league, Bromley’s ambitions will be more than just fighting for survival, with recent comments from head coach Andy Woodman on BBC Radio London indicating that they’re gearing up for more than just survival, but instead, they’re going to be aiming for the very top.

“I’m already going to start acting like a League One manager. We’re going to be at the top, fighting to get out of this league,”  said Woodman speaking to BBC London a month ago ahead of the start of pre-season. He has already started to notice the perks that come with their new football league status.

I say this for the National League clubs, everyone wants to be in the league, so my conversations now are so different, with clubs,  with players, and with agents, we’re an attractive proposition.”

Woodman then went on to cite a former loanee who was recently promoted with Ipswich Town, Ali Al-Hamadi as an example of this. “Two years ago, We had Ali Al-Hamadi, who nobody had heard of, on loan, he rang me up in the summer, thanking me for coming to Bromley, and thanking me that now he’s gonna be a Premier League player,  it just reminds me, how many players we’ve had coming through our door that clubs have trusted us with, and now we’ve got clubs calling us saying, we’ve got this good young player, would you take him?”

If this deal were to happen, it would likely be a loan deal with Palace clearly valuing the development of the 20-year-old.

Woodman is certainly enjoying the perks of being a football league manager, and the potential signing of Danny Imary is just one of these perks, the fact that a club like Crystal Palace trusts Woodman with an undoubtedly talented youngster must speak of the reputation surrounding the club currently.

Right now is a great time to be a Bromley fan, with a historical season on the horizon, a manager who has nothing but faith that the club can do something extraordinary, and talented players like Imary coming through the door, life as a Bromley fan right now, must feel like being on cloud nine.
