Two National League sides are keeping tabs on transfer-listed Solihull Moors forward Mark Beck according to reports.
The 30-year-old joined the West Midlands club in January 2023 and has been a regular fixture for the team, including scoring a brace in the loss to Gateshead in the FA Trophy Final, as well as being an unused substitute in the play-off final defeat to Bromley.
According to BBC Radio Tees reporter Rob Law, both The Tynesiders and Hartlepool United are interested in a deal for Beck, who still has a year left on his deal at Moors. He understands that the Sunderland-born striker is interested in a return to the North East after leaving Darlington.
In the club’s retained and released list, the number nine was listed as ‘available for transfer’ alongside Gus Mafuta and former Accrington Stanley forward Connor Hall. 10 players were released by Solihull, including Joe Sbarra, who has since moved onto Doncaster Rovers.
Pools have targetted players that have wished to return to the region recently, with Crawley Town promotion winner Adam Campbell returning to the club a decade on from his loan move to Victoria Park from Newcastle United.
In an interview with club, boss Darren Sarll gave a recruitment update and revealed why he was signing players from nearby regions: “When I met the board, we discussed the possibility of maybe some difficulty in bringing players to the North East.
“I can only reflect on my time at a club similar in terms of its location being so remote in Yeovil.
“I wanted to make sure the connection with the North East was as strong as possible. I didn’t want to be one of those managers that came from the South and brought 10 Londoners with him.
“I really wanted to explore the the possibility of recruiting local players, players understand the region players who understand the North East culture of football the tribality of it. I thought it was so important to get that.”
A graduate of the Carlisle United youth system, Beck made 77 appearances for The Cumbrians, scoring 10 times. He would later be loaned to Falkirk, Wrexham and Yeovil Town before moving onto Darlington and later Harrogate Town.

Mark Beck has been a solid player wherever he has gone, from his time at Carlisle United to today where he was so pivotal in the FA Trophy final despite losing on penalties. Solihull are in a reset following their double Wembley heartbreak so getting some money out of a deal for the forward will be important for their recruitment.
Darren Sarll has been very open about his desire to sign local players as Hartlepool target a run at the play-offs in the National League next season. Beck ticks all the boxes needed and will be a strong asset to what is already a quality front line for Pools, which includes newcomer Adam Campbell and former Salford City striker Emmanuel Dieseruvwe. Should they secure this signing, a top seven finish should be a reasonable prediction.
