Woking have certainly sparked into life with their summer recruitment. Former Peterborough United player, Harry Beautyman, has now joined on a free transfer.
Following the expiration of his contract at Sutton United, the 32-year-old has stepped down to the lower division, in order to provide Woking with some much-needed leadership and quality from the midfield. Beautyman has appeared 334 times in two separate spells for the South London side, and has scored 60 since his first debut for the club in August 2011.
During both his loan and permanent stay at the Posh, between November 2014 and July 2016, Beautyman notched 45 appearances with five goals to show. The 32-year-old had also played for St. Albans, Welling United, Northampton Town, and Stevenage prior to his second move to Sutton.
After returning to the U’s in 2018, the Englishman contributed heavily to their first EFL inclusion, following the culmination of the 2020/21 season – where Sutton won the National League. Woking have undoubtedly acquired Beautyman’s services to bolster their chances of promotion this season, seeing as he is a player who has achieved this feat before.
Start of a new chapter. Can’t wait to get going 🙌🏻❤️ https://t.co/zjYVjWzRyr

Michael Doyle, Woking’s current club manager, gave his thoughts on the importance of this signing:
“Harry Beautyman is a proven winner. He brings tons of experience and is a great addition to the side. He’s won promotion out of this league, he plays with intensity and we’re delighted to add such a quality player.”
Poached partly due to his impressive experience of League One with Peterborough, Beautyman has signed a short-term deal with the Cards. Woking have been extremely busy already this week, as they have announced the signings of five new players (including the 32-year-old).

After finishing 17th last season in the National League, only three points above the drop, the Surrey-based side will be hoping to ignite a complete turnaround of last season’s misfortune.
Many fresh faces with experience and quality have entered the club already and a charge for a play-off place looks increasingly more likely. Beautyman at the fifth level of English football is an absolute steal considering his exploits in and around the others tiers.
Woking have snatched a player with a winning mentality and he comes with great expectations ahead of an important campaign. Both the 32-year-old and the Cards will certainly be ‘ones to watch’ this season.
