Queens Park Rangers are one of three clubs interested in signing Luke Berry from Premier League outfit Luton Town this summer, according to the latest reports.
The Hatters are battling hard to avoid relegation to the Championship at the first time of asking and currently sit 18th in the top-flight, one point below the dotted line heading into the final three matches of the campaign.
Rob Edwards’ men have some difficult fixtures before the season draws to a close, with games against Everton, West Ham United and Fulham on the horizon. However, the club have recruited wisely, refusing to splash the cash like many newly promoted sides tend to do and still have a great chance to remain in the top tier.
Queens Park Rangers Face Challenge To Keep Star Amid Premier League Interest
Luton still have a handful of players in the team that have been with the club since they were a mid-table Championship side but one man in particular has stood the test of time at Kenilworth Road. Luke Berry signed for the Hatters back in 2017 when the Bedfordshire outfit were still in League Two.
The midfielder has gone on to make 182 appearances for the club and his goal at home to Nottingham Forest back in March meant that the 31-year-old became the only player to score in all top four divisions of English football.

Nevertheless, Football Insider are reporting that Berry’s fairytale with Luton is set to come to an end over the coming months, with Queens Park Rangers, rivals Watford and MLS club DC United interested in acquiring his signature this summer.
Berry currently has a market value of £340,000, as per Transfermarkt, but his contract with Luton expires at the end of the campaign, meaning he is free to decide the next path in his career.
Writer’s View
Berry will undoubtedly leave Luton as a club legend, but for his own sake, he will want to play regularly at a decent level. Across the 2023/24 Premier League campaign, he has played merely 305 minutes in total, spread across 15 matches, although he did chip in with two goals.
Queens Park Rangers could be a really good option for him. Head coach Marti Cifuentes is looking to bolster his midfield over the summer and Berry’s experience in the Championship could make for a very astute signing.
