Queens Park Rangers have been dealt a boost ahead of next Friday’s clash as Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has already confirmed that one player will be absent from his squad.
It’s all to play for in the Championship, with just three matches remaining before the end of the regular season. QPR are battling hard to stay in England’s second tier whilst Farke’s men are doing their best to get out of the division and return to the promised land of the Premier League.
Marti Cifuentes’ side are on a poor run of form. Having looked likely to confirm safety two weeks ago, heavy defeats to Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City followed by a draw at Plymouth Argyle have pulled the London outfit right back into contention for a spot in the bottom three.
Now, Queens Park Rangers have three games to save their season. This week is arguably the most important of the campaign for the club which starts on Saturday evening against Preston North End and ends next Friday night when Leeds come to town.

Meanwhile, the Whites are just a point behind the automatic promotion places and two points off league leaders Ipswich Town, so the Yorkshire side will be desperate to thwart QPR in front of their travelling fans in seven days’ time.
One man who will be out of action for the Whites is January signing Connor Roberts, who is currently on loan from relegation-threatened Premier League outfit Burnley. Speaking ahead of Monday’s visit to Middlesbrough, Farke admitted that the fullback will be absent for the next two matches [quotes via the Yorkshire Evening Post]:
“Sadly some bad news with Connor Roberts,” the German coach said.
“His muscle showed a reaction after the last game during training and he will definitely miss the upcoming two away games.
We tried to be really, really careful with him after he came back with an injury from the international break. But perhaps we were not even careful enough, so he will definitely miss the next two games,” he continued.
“This is more or less the only bad news, apart from our long-term injuries of course like Pascal Struijk but all other players are available.”

Roberts has been a bit-part player for Leeds since joining on loan on transfer deadline day. However, he got just his third start for the club in a 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at the weekend but will now miss the next two matches which is a personal blow for the player.
Nevertheless, Queens Park Rangers need all the help they can get and the more quality players that are missing for Leeds, the better their chances of picking up at least a point, or potentially even three become.
