Ipswich Town are interested in signing Sheffield United youngster Daniel Jebbison with the 20-year-old’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.
With everything still to play for, Ipswich need four points from their remaining two games to secure a return back to the top flight for the first time in 22 years. Despite the uncertainty of which division The Tractor Boys will compete in, Kieran McKenna is already planning his transfer window.
As stated by journalist Alan Nixon via his patreon, Ipswich Town are interested in signing Daniel Jebbison from already relegated Sheffield United this summer.
Jebbison broke through at Brammall Lane aged 16, even scoring a winner upon his Premier League debut at Goodison Park, but since then the academy product has since struggled for consistent game time over the years.
After having a positive loan move at Burton Albion during the first half of the 2021-22 season, the striker has only made 28 appearances for his parent club and could be set to depart South Yorkshire with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
With Sheffield United’s relegation recently confirmed following a 5-1 defeat away at St. James’ Park last weekend, there is an avenue for more game time with the Blades competing in the Championship next season. However, the striker may prefer a change of surroundings.
With undoubted potential, Jebbison boasts a good physicality alongside excellent mobility, yet is at an age where first team football is becoming a necessity if that potential is to be untapped.
It is understood that Ipswich are interested in the player regardless of which division they are to play in come August.
McKenna’s team currently sit third in the Championship, although they are in control of their own destiny. They are level on points with second-placed Leeds United having played a game less. They face Coventry City tomorrow night before ending the campaign against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

It feels strange to still be talking about Jebbison as a prospect considering he has been around since he was 16. However, there is still so much potential to be unlocked within the striker. A change in surroundings under one of the most exciting managers in English football could be crucial to unlocking this potential.
Kieran McKenna is considered one of the brightest young managers in the EFL and has already been linked to the likes of Manchester United and West Ham United. Under contract until 2027 though, remaining at Portman Road next season seems the most likely scenario.
