Stevenage are at risk of losing yet another key man to Championship side Rotherham United after Steve Evans’ appointment in South Yorkshire last week.
Boro were rocked on Wednesday when it emerged that Evans, who had taken the club from the cusp of the League Two relegation zone to an unlikely push for the League One play-offs, would replace Leam Richardson at the New York Stadium.
Evans had his first game in the dugout with the Millers on Saturday afternoon and already managed to throw a spanner into the relegation battle by holding Birmingham City to a goalless draw at home which meant that Sheffield Wednesday leapt out of the bottom three for the first time since the opening day of the season.

Meanwhile, Stevenage held out for a 1-1 draw at Oxford United following some controversial refereeing during the game. Former player Alex Revell took charge of Boro for the game and guided the side to a good point on the road despite conceding over 20 shots.
However, Revell, who will likely be Stevenage’s interim boss until the end of the campaign, is also being eyed up by Evans at Rotherham. Speaking in a recent interview, as quoted by the Rotherham Advertiser, the 61-year-old admitted he would like to have Revell back on his coaching staff.
“Since I’ve left, I haven’t spoken to Alex. When you leave a club, you must have the integrity to not communicate back to your old players and staff because they can get mixed messages,” Evans said.
“Would I see Alex Revell back on my staff at some time? If we had a position available and Alex was fancying it, absolutely.”

The Stevenage caretaker manager could re-join Evans at Rotherham United this summer, the club he played the most games for during his illustrious career as a professional footballer, and the Millers’ new boss looks keen to give him that chance.
It is likely that Boro will bring a new permanent boss to The Lamex over the coming weeks and this coach may not want Revell as part of his backroom team. Who this manager will be is anyone’s guess at this moment in time.
