Norwich City loan star Adam Idah has spoken out about Chris Sutton’s comments urging the centre-forward to sign permanently for Celtic when the summer transfer window opens up.
It’s been a successful few months for both the Canaries and Idah himself. The East Anglian side look like strong favourites to clinch the final play-off spot, offering them a chance to return to the Premier League, while the Republic of Ireland international has become a fan-favourite at Celtic Park.
The 23-year-old made 34 appearances under David Wagner this season, scoring seven times in all competitions, including six goals in the Championship. However, since moving temporarily to Scotland, he has already defeated this league tally in merely ten appearances.

Idah had become a squad player at Norwich City as a result of Josh Sargent’s excellent goalscoring form, although he did start picking up more minutes in the team once the American attacker suffered a lengthy injury blow early in the campaign.
Nevertheless, upon returning from his spell on the sidelines, Sargent took his place in the number ‘9’ position once more, leaving Idah with question marks about his future at Carrow Road. As a result, on transfer deadline day, the young frontman made a loan switch to Celtic.
His time in Glasgow has been a raging success as the Hoops are vying to retain their Scottish Premiership title under former Leicester City and Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers. Idah’s form has caused former player Chris Sutton to urge Celtic to snap him up at the end of the campaign in what “would be an absolute steal”.
When Sutton’s comments were put to Idah, the target man admitted that it gives him confidence to hear that the club “might want [him]” [quotes via Football Scotland]:
“Of course, it’s a big compliment hearing things like that from great players.
“It does give you a lot of confidence when you hear the club might want you. It makes you feel really part of this club. I’m really grateful to be here and I want to give my all to finish on a high,” he continued.
“I have got a lot more minutes, the manager has a lot of trust in me, the lads got used to me and know my style of football. When people have that trust in you, and when that first goal comes, you do become confident in yourself. Even little things, like having the fans behind you, is huge. That helped me a lot and motivates me more to try to do better.”
