Norwich City may have an advantage when bitter rivals Ipswich Town come to Carrow Road this Saturday as striker Kieffer Moore is a doubt for the derby clash.
This is a huge game for the Canaries as the club looks to secure their place inside the play-offs by the end of the campaign, with Coventry City currently sitting four points behind with a game in hand. Losing in the East-Anglian derby on Saturday afternoon could leave the door open for Mark Robins’ Sky Blues to overtake them in the top six.
After three straight victories in the Championship, David Wagner’s side were brought back down to earth on Easter Monday at the King Power Stadium. Despite taking the lead during the game through Gabriel Sara in the 20th minute, Leicester City rallied to put three past Angus Gunn as the game ended 3-1 to the hosts.
Nevertheless, Norwich City have the perfect opportunity to put the ghosts of this defeat to bed with a win in the derby against Ipswich, while also putting a major dampener on the Tractor Boys’ title hopes this season as Kieran McKenna’s men currently sit top of the Championship.
The Canaries could have a slight advantage heading into this game as McKenna recently admitted that the knock Moore sustained against Southampton on Monday, which forced him off the pitch early in the match, doesn’t look great.
Speaking to TWTD after the game, the Northern Irishman provided an update on his 6’5″ frontman:
“I haven’t had the medical report, to be honest. He got a firm hit on his back,” McKenna said.
“I think it all locked up, so that isn’t great, so we’ll have to see how he is over the next few days. But I haven’t had a report yet.”

Having failed to find much game-time at Bournemouth this season under Andoni Iraola, the Wales international was sent out to the Championship on loan, with Ipswich more than happy to take him for the remainder of the campaign.
This decision has paid off so far for McKenna as Moore has scored six goals and recorded one assist in just 12 matches so far. Not having him for the game away at Norwich City this weekend could be a massive blow for the side, even if Ali Al-Hamadi is in fine form himself.
