Hull City are close to completing the signing of Abdulkadir Omur. The talented Trabzonspor midfielder will bring new attacking options to the Tigers as they seek a promotion run in the second half of the season.
Should they complete the deal for the 24-year-old, it will shore up the squad after popular Scott Twine was recalled by Premier League Burnley, only to be sent out immediately to Bristol City on loan.
The72 have reported that HullLive picked up on the news that Omur, highly thought of by the Turkish side, will have to make a quick impression and win over any doubters. The Turkish Super Lig is one thing, but the pace of the playoff race in the Championship will be one that Omur will have to adjust to quickly.
Hull have been no strangers in dipping into the Turkish league, with several notable signings, but they have not hit the heights. So caution will have to be applied if they do manage to strike a deal.
Omur is a competent international though having played a dozen times for Turkey, and Liam Rosenoir will have done his homework and worked out that this new addition will add depth and value.
The playoffs may seem a little bit of a stretch at this point, but one team normally comes out of the chasing pack as a surprise outfit, and with fresh attacking options it could well be Hull who springs that surprise.
With over 200 appearances for Trabzonspor. Omur does not lack experience at a top level and helped the Black Sea Storm to the title in 2022.

Hull sit just two points off the playoff places, with a game in hand, before their home game against Millwall this weekend. Landing an attacking-minded midfielder will appease the fans who saw Twine leave, and go to promotion rivals.
How Omur settles in will be key, but if he can replicate the form he has shown over the last few years then the Tigers will have recruited well, and may have unlocked the door to extending their season.
