Rotherham United are looking to bolster their squad before the January transfer window closes and are reportedly eyeing a move for an out-of-favour star near the top end of the table.
The Millers find themselves in a desolate situation, sitting rock bottom of the Championship table, having failed to win a match in four league outings. Furthermore, the South Yorkshire club have picked up merely one victory in their last 17 games in all competitions.
Leam Richardson’s side are eight points from safety and now face a disturbing run of fixtures over the coming weeks, with matches against Southampton, Leeds United, Hull City, Watford and Ipswich Town on the horizon.
With transfer deadline day fast approaching, Rotherham United are looking to bring some new arrivals to the club to pull off a miracle by the end of the campaign. According to a report from Pink Un, the Millers are weighing up a swoop for Norwich City wide-man Przemysław Płacheta
Placheta’s contract runs out at Carrow Road at the end of the 2023/24 season and the Poland international has played merely 685 minutes this term which was spread across 19 appearances. This averages out at 36 minutes per game.
Pink Un have also claimed that Rotherham United are not the only Championship side interested in signing the winger before the transfer window draws to a close on Thursday night, but the other suitors have remained unnamed.
Placheta has been with Norwich City since 2020 and even played a part in helping the Canaries earn promotion to the Premier League in the 2020/21 season. However, there has been no talk about a possible contract extension.

All signs lead to an exit for Placheta. The attacker, who can also operate as a fullback, has entered into his final six months as a Norwich player but still boasts an £850,000 market value, as per Transfermarkt.
Given his lack of game-time this season under David Wagner, it would make a lot of sense for the club to sell Placheta to ensure they don’t lose him for nothing at the end of the season.
