Portsmouth are clinging onto top spot in League One right now but could be dealt a major blow before the January transfer window draws to a close, according to the latest reports.
Pompey were on a slippery run of form since Christmas and are hanging on to their position at the summit of the table by one point, although both Peterborough United and Bolton Wanderers have games in hand.
However, a 1-0 win away at relegation-threatened Fleetwood Town on Saturday kept the Posh and the Trotters at bay for at least another weekend. Abu Kamara scored the only goal of the game with a scintillating solo effort.

Kamara has also been garnering interest from clubs in the Championship, having had an excellent season so far at Fratton Park. The attacker is on loan from Norwich City until the end of the season but his stint may be cut short following recent news.
According to a report from TeamTalk, second-tier league leaders Leicester City are set to rival Championship strugglers Stoke City for the 20-year-old, with the transfer deadline rapidly approaching.
The outlet are claiming that both Leicester and Stoke make regular checks on Kamara in League One and are hoping to sign the centre-forward this winter to bolster their respective attacking departments.
Kamara has been an integral part of John Mousinho’s side this season, having made 34 appearances in all competitions for Portsmouth, scoring seven goals and recording four assists in the meantime.
A deal for the youngster would effectively end his spell on loan at Portsmouth. However, the report does not reveal whether or not Norwich have slapped an asking price on his head, or if they are even willing to sell the player.

This would be a major blow to Portsmouth and the side’s hopes of finally escaping from League One after many years of languishing in England’s third tier. The young attacker is Pompey’s third-highest goalscorer this term under Mousinho.
Nevertheless, it would be a strange decision for Norwich City to sell Kamara to a direct Championship rival, especially knowing that he has a very high potential and would benefit most from staying with Portsmouth until the end of the campaign.
