Huddersfield Town are keen to bolster their attacking department before the January transfer window closes and have been linked with an attacker from the division below, according to reports.
The Terriers are fighting for survival in England’s second tier and the statistics are unfavourable for the Yorkshire club. Right now, Darren Moore’s side hold the fifth-worst attacking and defensive record in the Championship and sit merely three points above the relegation zone, having failed to win a single game in their last four league outings.
Nevertheless, Huddersfield Town owner Kevin Nagle revealed two weeks ago that the side were hoping to bring three more additions to the Kirklees Stadium, having already completed the signings of Alex Matos and Bojan Radulovic.
Speaking to BBC West Yorkshire, the American businessman said:
“You can never really predict exactly when a signing is going to come. I can tell you we have a list of nine or ten people that we’re targeting.
“I’m hoping that we get another three, I’m gonna put a number to it. That’s the goal I’ve given our team, I feel very excited.”
Since these comments, Huddersfield have completed the permanent signings of Rhys Healey from Watford and Radinio Balker from FC Groningen. However, the club are now reportedly eyeing up a League One star.
According to HITC, Huddersfield Town are keen to sign Wigan Athletic winger Jordan Jones before the winter window slams shut and will battle it out with fellow relegation rivals Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham United.
Jones is out of contract at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, but the outlet is also claiming that the Latics are hoping to retain his services and will look to open up talks over a new deal with the 29-year-old very soon.

Jones has been an important player for Wigan this season, making 23 appearances in all competitions under Shaun Maloney, while playing on both the left and right of the attack, as well as in the number ’10’ position when required. Furthermore, he currently boasts a market value of £280,000 despite his contract running out in six months.
This would be an excellent signing and one that the Northern Ireland international may be tempted by, particularly if Wigan don’t offer favourable terms in a new contract offer.
