Huddersfield Town owner Kevin Nagle has revealed that he is hoping for multiple new signings before the January transfer window.
The Terriers have been busy in the market since the new year, with two new faces, Alex Matos and Bojan Radulovic, already arriving in Kirklees.
Darren Moore’s side are in the midst of a relegation battle this season, currently above the drop zone by three points, ahead of their Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
Speaking to BBC West Yorkshire Sport, Nagle has remained optimistic that his team can bring more fresh faces in before the end of the window. He said:
“You can never really predict exactly when a signing is going to come. I can tell you we have a list of nine or ten people that we’re targeting.
“I’m hoping that we get another three, I’m gonna put a number to it. That’s the goal I’ve given our team, I feel very excited.”
Midfielder Matos arrived in Huddersfield last Thursday and made his debut in the 5-0 FA Cup defeat away to Manchester City. The Chelsea youngster also made a cameo appearance in the top flight this season in the Blues’ derby win against Fulham.
Serbian international Radulovic arrived from Finnish champions HJK the following day. The 24-year-old was the top scorer in the division with 18 goals as he helped his side to their fourth consecutive title.
Nagle, who also owns USL Championship side Sacramento Republic, gave his prediction when asked how many new signings would come through the door before the window closed. He added: “A number around six. I say signings, what we did was we called Brodie Spencer back, that was also another welcome addition. There might be a little bit of that as well.”
The American also revealed in the same interview that he was exploring ways to redevelop the stadium, calling it “subpar” in its current state. He also confirmed that Huddersfield Town would meet with the council about purchasing the property from them.

Huddersfield Town are nowhere near done in this window, according to Kevin Nagle. Bringing in a European league’s top scorer in Bojan Radulovic is a shrewd acquisition, and should help the Terriers in narrow contests. The club have drawn the most games of any team in the league this season, so having a new scoring option could easily turn one point into three. Confirming three new signings still yet to come will be reassuring to fans that the club are going to put up a fight to remain in the Championship.
Another positive note to come out of Nagle’s interview is the confirmation the club are seeking to buy the Kirklees Stadium. The 69-year-old noted there are multiple areas the facilities at Leeds Road need to be upgraded, including the toilets and corporate boxes. Having full control of the ground is one of the new ownership’s key targets and once that happens, the club will be able to fully benefit from revenues on a matchday and beyond.
