Leeds United will continue their ‘not for sale’ stance for star man Crysencio Summerville this month amid heightened interest from Newcastle United, according to TEAMtalk.
The 22-year-old has attracted attention from a host of Premier League clubs in recent months, thanks in part to his explosive form at Elland Road. The winger bagged his 12th goal of the season on New Year’s Day as the Whites recovered from back-to-back defeats to record a 3-0 victory over Birmingham City.
Summerville made the switch to Leeds from Dutch giants Feyenoord in 2020 but had to wait a year until making his debut. He eventually broke into the team last season, although dipped in and out of the starting XI as the Yorkshire club suffered relegation to the Championship.
It’s this season which has proved to be his breakout campaign, starring as Daniel Farke’s team target an immediate return to the Premier League. His upturn in form helped Leeds recover from their slow start, where they won just two of their opening seven fixtures.
Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion are both said to be keen on the Dutch under-21 international, but TEAMtalk claim that Newcastle are looking to usurp their division rivals by making a move this month. It is said that the Magpies are hoping to take advantage of the player sharing the same agency as manager Eddie Howe.

Newcastle are set for a busy month in the transfer market, with their recent poor form seeing them slip to ninth in the table as well as exiting the Champions League last month. Despite that, Leeds will reject any advances outright and maintain that their player will not be allowed to leave Elland Road. Furthermore, Summerville is keen to remain at the club and focus his efforts on his side’s promotion bid.
Leeds are next in action this Saturday when they take a break from their league antics to face League One high-fliers Peterborough United in the FA Cup third round.

It’s easy to see why Leeds are so desperate to keep hold of Summerville, especially as they look to keep pace with the teams above them. Daniel Farke will be relaxed about the situation due to the player still having two years remaining on his existing deal and the fact he wishes to remain at the club.
He is a player who is destined to play once more in the Premier League and the hope will be that it will be with his current employers.
