Despite two consecutive defeats the mood is still good at the King Power Stadium. After all Leicester City have had a record breaking start to the season, and are still very much favourites to gain automatic promotion back to the Premier League, after a one season stay in the Championship.
This has been proven when goalkeeper Mads Hermansen insisted that all is well after losses to Leeds United, and away at Middlesbrough this past weekend. The first two defeats of the season still leaves the Foxes top of the table, but now Ipswich Town have drawn level, and Leeds have closed the gap to eight points.
Both games were against potential promotion rivals and could’ve seen a dent in confidence. The international break has come at the right time, so Enzo Maresca has time for a reset with his players.
Reported by Football League World, the Foxes goalkeeper said. “There are still so many games left to play, it makes no sense to look at the table right now.
“Of course we’re happy we’re top – we’re not going to deny that. We wanted to have the break with a good feeling but we know what to work and in which direction we need to go.
“We have 30 more games and hopefully we’ll be on top then.”
The two losses are a wake up call. Leicester will not have it all their way this season, and dropping games against potential rivals will have hurt, but as Hermansen suggests, it’s the long, big picture that they will be looking and focusing on.

How clubs react to losses is very telling, especially when they are at the top and on an incredible run of form. Leicester City looked to be the runaway success story of the season. Now though after two straight defeats they will need to react with a similar run of form, or the pack will close in fast in what is often a very unforgiving division.
The break has come at a good time, and with games against Watford at home, and lowly Sheffield Wednesday away, they have a great opportunity to get back to winning ways straight away. This will be the mantra installed into his player from Marseca, and with their feet firmly on the ground as demonstrated by Hermansen.
