Danny Rohl has barely got his feet under the table in his new office when he is wrestling with more injuries to his squad.
The new boss in charge at Hillsborough is getting more acclimatised to his position and installing his style but has another major player doubt as he prepares for the visit of Millwall.
The Lions go to Yorkshire, on the brink of naming their own new manager, but as Rohl looks to build on his own club’s first win of the season, Josh Windass has joined the queue in the treatment room.
Improved Play
Despite a 1-0 loss at Bristol City this past weekend, the style of play, and improved commitment after they were reduced to ten men when Barry Bannan was red-carded just after the half-hour mark, shows a corner has been turned.
The game against Millwall comes before another international break, and a win could lift them off the bottom of the Championship table. The German spoke after the game and was pleased with the effort put in.
“After the red card, I saw a team on the pitch who were giving everything. I am so proud of them. We had three or four chances to equalise and deserved something from the game. Bristol City are a strong side, who press high, but we feel a bit unlucky today.

“Things tend to go against you when you are at the wrong end of the table. Now we have to recover and move on. We know we need wins, but I saw so much to please me. In my short time at the club, I have seen players with the right mentality for a fight.
“At the moment things are not going our way, but if we continue to create chances that will change. It’s about maintaining a belief and conviction that results will come and I am seeing that in training and matches. We have to keep working hard to reward our fans, who were fantastic today.”
With Barry Bannan likely to be suspended, Windass, reported by Yorkshire Live, is likely to miss the Millwall clash. Rohl said. “He picked up an injury in training and now we will what happens in the next few days. We’ll check with the medical team.”
Juan Delgado had hip surgery after coming back from international duty with Chile, and Momo Diaby is slowly getting back into training after an extended period out with a foot injury.
Writer’s View
Josh Windass is a key part of the Sheffield Wednesday side, and his time out will hurt them.
The manager is getting praise for the way his team is playing, and the Millwall game is one they will hope to pick up points from. Missing key players like Windass, and Bannan, will be setbacks in their preparation. Rohl though will not use that as an excuse as he puts his squad depth to the test.
