Massive Injury Blow For Already Struggling Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town have suffered two heavy back-to-back defeats, the latest a 4-1 loss at Leeds United, and have a spiralling injury crisis, that now includes Jack Rudoni.

The attacking midfielder star has been one of the bright sparks in a somewhat dim season so far but now looks for some time out of the side. Manager Darren Moore is seeing an overcrowded physio room, which does not help his cause going forward as the Terriers try and climb away from the drop zone. They are currently a place above the dotted line of relegation but have only one win in their last eight games.

Poor Form

That one win was against the woeful Queens Park Rangers, and Huddersfield can be thankful that for now the teams below them, Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday, as well as QPR, are not threatening to pick up points any time soon.

Yorkshire Live reported the news that Rudoni is out, for what could be several weeks, and that is a hammer blow to the Terriers. It did look like they had turned a corner as they went on a mini-run of five games unbeaten, but the recent run of bad results has seen the black clouds return.

Reinforcements will have to be made in January, but with several key players out, the window cannot come soon enough. Moore will get some players back soon, Danny Ward, Josh Ruffels, and David Kasumu, are all on the verge of coming back into first-team contention. For the time being though it is a case of muddling through.

Writer’s View

Jack Rudoni will be a huge loss to a Huddersfield team. As well as being their most potent attacking threat, he has chipped in with three goals, second only to central defender Michal Helik who has four. The next month will be hard with games against Sunderland and Southampton, coming after a home game against Watford, and a trip to Hull City.

Darren Moore has been in tough spots before, but he will be tested over the coming weeks to avoid getting into a full-on relegation scrap at the turn of the year. Losing your most vibrant player will not help, and the squad will need to come together to start to pick up points again.
