Wrexham striker Paul Mullin has admitted that he thinks he has the ability to perform for Wales at international level.
The Liverpool born striker has risen to fame since joining the Welsh club, being bought by owner’s Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2021. Since then he’s gone on to score 78 goals in 99 games for the club, helping them end a 15-year stay in the National League, earning promotion to League Two last season.
The 28 year old was put on ‘standby’ for the last international camp but didn’t make an appearance.
The goal scoring form may help to persuade Wales manager Rob Page however. “If he’s playing in League Two and he’s scoring goals, then we will take a look at him and consider him”, said Page during an international break in June.
Speaking to ‘Kammy and Ben’s Proper Football Podcast’ Mullin said: “I’ll be over the moon, it’s not something I expect, but it’s something I would relish, I think I could do it.” about the possibility of playing for Wales.
“I never really followed the England national team. I’d love to represent Wales.” he added.
Wrexham travel to the East Midlands this afternoon to renew their rivalry with Notts County in what is expected to be a blockbuster clash.

Paul Mullin has had a remarkable couple of seasons since joining Wrexham, and even before that was a prominent goal scoring figure in the Football League with Cambridge United, where he hit 32 goals in 46 games in League Two, helping them to promotion before joining Wrexham.
It’s possible to envisage him playing for Wales, most likely in a friendly fixture, especially when the national team play in Wrexham. If he continues to score goals he will be putting his name in contention, however many feel it would be harsh on other Welsh forwards. One that comes to mind is Aaron Collins, who has been scoring for Bristol Rovers in League One, and is yet to receive a call up.
