Numerous Premier League Clubs Circling Norwich City’s £430K Starlet

Crystal Palace and Aston Villa are among five clubs interested in signing Norwich City’s in-form star Jonathan Rowe, according to reports, but the Canaries will hand the youngster a new deal.

Rowe made his debut with the Norfolk-based club two years ago in England’s top flight but didn’t fully break into the first team until this season under head coach David Wagner. However, the 20-year-old is now one of the first names on the teamsheet.

The winger has scored seven goals in all competitions for Norwich City this term, including six in the Championship, making him the joint-fourth highest goalscorer in England’s second tier alongside West Bromwich Albion’s John Swift.

Rowe’s excellent form has garnered interest from numerous Premier League clubs; Palace, Villa, Burnley, Sheffield United and Brentford, as has been reported by TeamTalk. Nonetheless, the Canaries are not keen to lose the academy product so quickly.

The forward last signed a deal in 2022 when Dean Smith was in charge and currently has two years remaining on his contract at Carrow Road, earning just under £5,000 per week, as per Capology.

The outlet is also reporting that Norwich City are hoping to tie Rowe down to a new deal to fend off any potential suitors, although Pink Un have labelled this as ‘premature’, claiming that the board are not in a rush to agree a new deal with the player.

Transfermarkt have priced Rowe’s market value at £430,000 but this will likely increase over the coming months if he continues to perform as he has done.

Rowe is an incredible player and has arguably been Norwich’s best this season so far alongside Gabriel Sara so it wouldn’t be surprising if Norwich City did try to offer him an extended contract.

However, for his career’s sake, going to the Premier League right now may be a step too far in his development. He’s finally getting first-team action and is progressing rapidly so Rowe should remain at Carrow Road for the foreseeable future.
