Leeds United Loanee’s Agent Discusses Transfer Prospects

The agent of Luis Sinisterra has claimed that a move to Italy could have materialised prior to his loan move from Leeds United to AFC Bournemouth during the summer, according to Sportitalia.

The 24-year-old ended weeks of speculation towards the end of the transfer window when he joined the Cherries on a season-long deal, despite making four appearances for the Championship club in all competitions prior to his switch to the south coast.

Bournemouth eventually captured the attacker on a temporary basis, although an option to buy of around £20 million is thought to have been included in the negotiations. However, it was revealed last month that the clause will only come in to play should the Yorkshire side fail to gain promotion back to the Premier League this season.

The attacker is yet to make an impact at the Vitality Stadium, making just two substitute appearances thus far, the latest of which came in last weekend’s 4-0 defeat against Arsenal. Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola claims the Colombian international is still not fit enough to start matches, saying earlier this week;

“When you change (clubs), probably training is different, the style is a bit different. So he needs to start winning his physical strength, because we know that his quality is there. He is very good, especially offensively, he is a difference-maker. We need him.”

Sinisterra’s path could have been so much different this season though, with his agent confirming he would have liked his client to have made a switch to Serie A. In an interview with Italian media, via Leeds LiveSimone Rondanini said;

“As for a deal that hasn’t materialised, I don’t know, because there have been many movements, even if we don’t really know for what reasons there were real possibilities. Of mine, I would have liked to see Sinisterra at Milan or Roma.”

The former Feyenoord star also struggled with injuries last season, making just 19 Premier League appearances. He will be hoping he will get a chance to showcase his abilities tomorrow when Bournemouth travel to Everton.

Sinisterra’s agent clearly would have favoured a move to either AC Milan or Roma for his client, particularly with the potential financial riches involved in such a deal. However, he will benefit from a permanent deal with Bournemouth, but there are two conditions involved. Firstly, he has to impress during his spell there and secondly, Leeds would have to fail to obtain promotion.

With that said, it is still likely that the Whites will sell next summer, regardless of whether that is to Bournemouth or not.
