Leeds United’s £21 Million Man Subject To Premier League Interest

Premier League side Brentford are weighing up making a bid for Leeds United’s tricky winger Luis Sinisterra, according to reports, but face tough competition for his signature.

The Colombian attacker joined Feyenoord back in 2019 but it was his final season with the Dutch club where the world really saw why Sinisterra was one to watch for the future as he scored 23 goals before the Peacocks came calling.

Leeds United acquired the former Once Caldas academy product for a fee of £21 million last summer, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Last season was difficult for the club who were guided back down to the Championship under three different managers but Sinisterra still managed to bag seven goals in 22 games in all competitions.

Sinisterra took part in Leeds’ pre-season training camp under new head coach Daniel Farke this summer and has already been involved in the Championship this term at Elland Road but is now being touted with a move away.

Football Insider are reporting that Brentford have enquired about the Colombian’s availability and believe they can sign him for a ‘bargain’ before the transfer window slams shut.

However, FI have also claimed that Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice and former side Feyenoord are keen on signing Sinisterra this summer, so a deal won’t come easy for the Bees but the London club have the upper hand because of their Premier League presence being appealing to the player.

This report from FI offers no insight into how much the player might cost Brentford so it will be interesting to see whether or not Leeds United will make a profit or loss on the exciting wide man.

Brentford are a very good side, although it’s not entirely clear where Sinisterra will fit into Thomas Frank’s 3-5-2 should a deal come to fruition.
