Forest Green Man Open To Ibrox Return

Forest Green player Charlie McCann has spoken of his time with Rangers in an interview with BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s Josh Evans.

The 21-year-old is a new signing at The New Lawn stadium, joining from Rangers last month for an undisclosed fee after a difficult time trying to break into the first-team squad.

McCann refused to rule out a return to Ibrox during the interview, as he stated he wanted to play more before coming to the decision to explore an option he had never even considered previously. He also spoke about how difficult the decision was to come to and that he would never rule out a return to Glasgow if it was ever an option in his career.

The Northern Ireland international was a part of Giovanni Van Bronckhort’s Rangers squad in the first half of this season, however, he was restricted to just eight appearances, all of which came from the bench.

McCann is still a young player with a lot of potential, already capped at a senior level with the Northern Ireland team, he is a decent addition to the Forest Green side as they look to lift themselves off the foot of the table this season. As for McCann himself, it shows a lot of maturity from a player at such a young age handling the attention to his new move extremely responsibly.

For now, he is a Forest Green player, and he is very respectful of that fact, it is too soon to tell if the Gloucestershire-based club is the right fit for the Irishman, having only made one appearance so far for the side. However, it is clear to see that Ibrox remains in the players heart no matter what the conclusion is.
