Mk Dons Agree Deal For Premier League Youngster

MK Dons agree a loan deal to sign Everton youngster Reece Welch on loan until the end of the season according to footy insider

Reece Welch is a young talented English centre-half, who is a product of the Everton Academy. Reece is yet to feature in the Premier League but has played 64 minutes in the EFL Cup game against Fleetwood. On top of this, he has also played four games in a row in the EFL Cup amassing 360 minutes in this competition. The 19-year-old has featured 18 times for Everton’s academy this season. Welch has been capped at England under 19 and England under 16 level respectively.

MK Dons sit 20th in League One after a disappointing start to the season follow the managerial sacking of manager Liam Manning. New manager Mark Jackson coming in from Leeds, the 45-year-old has looked to try and add to his side in a push to try and avoid the relegation fight, with the likes of Paris Maghoma, Jonathan Leko and Sullay Kaikai to name a few coming in this January as reinforcements.

Everton sit 19th in the Premier League following the managerial appointment of Sean Dyche, it looks to be the centre back has fallen down the pecking order and is being sent to earn some experience in the men’s game.

Writer’s view…

Reece is a superb pick up for Mk Dons, the young centre half is strong in duels and tackles with a strong passing range. Mk Dons is a strong place for him to develop with their track record of being able to develop talent and sell it on. Reece is relatively unproven and could do with a bit of development and could be a real gem of a found from MK Dons.

Overall this is a good move for both sides of the loan agreement.
