Fleetwood Striker Wanted By Five Clubs

Fleetwood Town Striker Ged Garner is a target for four EFL clubs and Scottish Club before the transfer deadline According to Footy Insider.

Ged is reportedly a target for Tranmere Rovers, Hartlepool United, Grimsby Town, Barrow, and Scottish side Motherwell are also taking an interest in him before the transfer deadline.

Fleetwood are prepared to let the 24-year-old leave the club after the signings of Jack Marriott and Jayden Stockley, this has put clubs alert about the availability of Garner.

The striker came up through the Fleetwood academy, having loan spells at the likes of Gateshead and Southport before featuring for the main team back in 2020. This season he has featured 18 times for the Cod Army contributing to three goals in all competitions.

The Cod Army currently sit 17th in League one four points off the relegation zone, after a steady start of the season under Scott Brown, they have looked to improve the squad in their push to move clear of the relegation fight.

Writer’s view…

Ged is a solid League One player and maybe a step down will allow for him to kick on in his career and release his full potential as he has only featured regularly of the bench for Fleetwood this season.

With the likes of Hartlepool and Grimsby being in the market for a forward in Andrew Dallas Garner could provide a cheaper alternative, with Hartlepool only having one fit striker in Josh Umerah they seem to be in the market to add additions into their front line.
