Swindon Town started the season of with promotion as the main goal, this was backed by the owners with the promising signing of talented youngsters with the aim to sell them on for a profit. The main spearhead of this project was the young Scottish centre half Tom Clayton from Liverpool, who was signed on a two-year deal. As well as this fellow premier league two signings Tyrese Shade, Jacob Wakeling, Marcel Lavinier and Reece Devine all joining the club. On top of this town looked to recruit from other leagues such as Sadiou Khan, Luke Jephcott and Remao Hutton adding some quality to the team.
That being said Swindon have failed to meet the expectations of the supporters, with the future of Scott Lyndsay in doubt due to the lack of identity in the play and a recent run of bad performances. He is now being touted with a move to League Two Strugglers Crawley who looked to have secured his services.
However, here are 5 signings that I think will be ideal for Swindon. I have tried to incorporate the model that owner Clem Morfuni said he was looking to follow by becoming a “Moneyball esque” selling club. Let us know if there were any you would change or disagree with.
