‘I hope he doesn’t expect to be paid on time’ – Plenty of fans react to Bolton Wanderers latest capture

Bolton Wanderers impressive pre-season business continued yesterday as they secured the signing of former Plymouth Argyle man Antoni Sarcevic on a two-year deal.

Following on from the exciting capture of Eoin Doyle, Sarcevic’s arrival will doubtless spark hope of a much-improved season after back-to-back relegations saw them drop into the basement division.

The 28-year-old began his senior career with Crewe Alexandra and has had spells with Fleetwood, Chester City and Shrewsbury Town.  He joined Plymouth in 2017, suffering relegation with them in 2018/19 and then bouncing back at the first time of asking last season. In total, he made 114 league appearances for Ryan Lowe’s side, scoring 18 times.

“When I found out about the club’s interest it was a move I wanted to get done straight away,” Sarcevic told the club’s official site. “The club speaks for itself. As soon as Bolton Wanderers comes knocking on the door it’s a massive plus.”

Bolton fans, who have suffered badly over the last couple years, will doubtless be overjoyed at the prospect of finally beginning their climb back up the divisions. They’ve flocked to social media to express their delight at the capture, with Plymouth fans also chipping in to wish him well.
