Portsmouth are one of several clubs interested in Hayes and Yeading winger Omar Rowe as reported by the Sun via London News Online.
The report suggests a number of clubs from the Championship including Bristol City and Barnsley are keeping tabs on the former Southampton trainee but claims Portsmouth are more genuine in their intent to sign the twenty-five-year-old.
Mauricio Pochettino gave Rowe his Southampton debut against Barnsley as an eighteen-year-old substitute in a League Cup tie in 2013. A further outing from the bench in the same competition followed.
However, he failed to establish himself in the first-team at St Mary’s but was a regular for the Saints’ Under-23 side before moving on to the Southern League Premier Division South outfit via a three-year stint in Cyprus.
Rowe has scored thirteen goals in twenty-one games this season, and Hayes and Yeading are resigned to losing a player who’s also contributed fourteen assists in a series of eye-catching displays.
According to the report, Portsmouth are currently leading the chase to land the winger for a bargain fee of around £15,000.
Jackett has a good track record of finding gems in non-league football and Rowe could be the next player to be given an opportunity by the Welshman.
His displays this season have got people talking, and if he can make the step back up the ladder, he could be an excellent signing for Pompey.
