3 Possible Candidates For Vacant Blackpool Post

Blackpool relieved Simon Grayson of his duties yesterday after an appalling run of form that has ended any hope of a play-off push.

With arguably a better squad than Terry McPhillips took towards the top ten last season, Grayson has failed to eclipse the achievements of his predecessor. They had the highest turnover of players in the recent transfer window, but have won just one game in 12 stretching back into December.

Their one win came against doomed Southend and after being turned over 3-2 by Gillingham this weekend, Grayson was sacked after less than a year in charge. Quite where he goes from here, with failed spells at Leeds, Sunderland and Bradford on his CV too, is anyone’s guess.

That won’t be of interest to Tangerines fans though, who will be hoping a new man can give their side a much-needed boost as they tumble towards the bottom three. It would take a miracle for them to be relegated now, they’re 14 points off the bottom and have games in hand to get above Lincoln and Bristol Rovers, but they do need a boost.

Who are the men in the frame and where does Simon Sadler go from here? We look at three possible candidates.
