Tranmere Rovers were well beaten yesterday, extending an agonising run for Mickey Mellon’s side.
Portsmouth visited Prenton Park looking to increase their promotion chances and did so courtesy of goals from Sean Raggett and Ryan Williams, which saw off the struggling hosts.
The opener came after just 13 minutes as Ronan Curtis delivered a free-kick unchallenged into the box. On loan centre back Raggett could barely believe his luck, heading home from close range in acres of space.
Despite the early blow, Tranmere rallied and Andy Cook had a decent effort saved by Alex Bass, but it was a display lacking confidence overall. When Williams made it 2-0 just after the break, the result was put beyond doubt.
After the game, Mellon bemoaned his sides gift of the early goal, but it seems the Prenton Park regulars are hearing and seeing, the same every week. They haven’t scored in four matches, they’re six points adrift of safety and ten points adrift of the side sitting just two places above the drop zone.
Their fans are not impressed, to say the least.
Either your signings are rubbish or they want you to get the boot

Same thing every week, and you have admitted its been happening all season, obviously the coaching is not good enough! They don't react, today when defending a set piece manny was asking the bench who he should mark ffs, abysmal management, recruitment and tactics.

Sorry Micky total respect for everything you’ve done for the club but time to walk away as nothing is changing.

Come on Micky. Get the lads in Monday and show them the Boreham Wood game and the Southampton Cup Game 4-3. Show them what it means to wear the shirt in adversity. Wimbledon are giving us a chance. Straight out of the blocks v Bristol on Tuesday. #swa

Decided to work instead today, thankfully, but heard they had the audacity to put the new season ticket forms out today! Good luck with that.

Not being hammered – that's only happen a few times – but not good enough for this level

Portsmouth are in this league for a reason. It's not rocket science, they are on the same league as us. There is no fight from any of them, manager and coaching staff included. How long before the fans turn on Mark and Nicola. Enough is enough, they don't have the passion.
