Sunderland fans have no doubt been keeping tabs on all the latest transfer news today, but at the time of writing, no new deals have been announced.
Speculation persists that Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo and Swansea City left-back Declan John could still sign. At the same time, many fans are hoping misfiring striker Will Grigg can be found a new home.
However, it remains quiet for the Black Cats, and this prompted the well known Sunderland fan content website the Roker Report to tweet its followers asking what their expectations were for the remainder of the day.
Things moving slowly for #SAFC today… what do you reckon we'll end up with come 11pm then?

From the reaction it appears the club’s recent history on deadline day is not encouraging fans to believe anything startling is going to happen. Indeed, having watched the near-collapse of the club in past years due in no small part to some dramatic and costly mistakes in the transfer market, it is no surprise their expectations are low.
It could be argued having a sense of humour is a vital part of being not only a Sunderland fan but a football fan in general.
It certainly helps as we all sit pressing the refresh button hoping for some news that might help to secure promotion, prevent relegation or confirm a comfortable mid-table finish for our beloved clubs.
Here is a selection of responses to the tweet by frustrated Sunderland fans.

Probably no one like always . Every window is the same linked with a raft of players manager says hes looking to strengthen and nothing comes of it . It’s Sunderland it’s what we do
