The twenty-three-year-old has struggled to get regular first-team action this campaign, and with his contract coming to an end in the summer it looks like the striker is finally on his way to the Keepmoat after weeks of speculation.
After sixteen goals in forty-nine outings last season, injury hampered his progress at the start of the current campaign, and he’s managed only two goals in seventeen appearances. The striker is a popular figure amongst many Salop fans, but he’s made only six league starts in 2019/20 and recently failed to make the Shrews matchday squad.
Okenabirhie started his career with Arsenal but switched to Stevenage after failing to make the grade with the Gunners. The Boro handed him his league debut before he moved into non-league with Harrow. He then joined Dagenham and Redbridge before signing for Shrewsbury in 2018.
Our View
Okenabirhie has talent but needs a fresh start and Doncaster fans will be hoping boss Darren Moore can get the best out of him.
If he does, it could be a great piece of business by Rovers.
