Blackpool have added to their ranks ahead of this week’s transfer deadline by securing the services of a youngster who made his senior debut in the FA Cup for a Premier League club this weekend.
They’ve snared the servcies of midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall on loan from Leicester City until the end of the season. He made his first-team debut for the Foxes against Brentford this weekend and is highly-rated at the King Power Stadium.
The youngster has appeared regularly for Leicester’s under 23 side and was the Development Squad Player of the Season last term. Blackpool manager Simon Grayson is delighted to have added the player to his ranks.
“Kiernan is a player we’ve watched closely for a while now, so we’re delighted that we’ve been able to bring him in,” he said.
“He’s very highly thought of at Leicester and I’d like to thank the club for allowing him to continue his development with us. He’ll be another terrific addition to the squad and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
As for the Shepshed born schemer, he’s seen his career change dramatically in the last few days.
“It’s been a whirlwind of a 72 hours,” added the 21-year-old.
“On Saturday I made my debut for the first-team in the FA Cup, then the next day I travelled here to get this loan deal sorted. I’m really excited to come here and get some games under my belt. Hopefully, I can make a difference to the team and see where it takes us.”
Fans of both sides are delighted to see the player poised to get senior exposure, as their social media responses confirm.
