Despite being linked with most of the Football League’s available players at some point, Kyle Lafferty is still the only incomer at the Stadium of Light this winter.
The Black Cats are on a decent run of form, having registered two fine wins at home and put themselves back in play-off contention. Despite that, fans are hoping to see a collection of new faces before the month is out.
Greg Docherty has been linked with a move but as yet there’s been little actual news in amongst the hundreds of pages of speculation. Having seen Bryan Oviedo’s exit collapse last January, Sunderland are no strangers to last-gasp drama.
That’s prompted popular Sunderland fan site the Roker Report to ask the question of fans’ are you worried or happy being patient? After all, Phil Parkinson’s reign might have seen a little upturn of late, but he’s not out of the woods when it comes to their expectant fans.
Or is he? Some of the responses seem to suggest that maybe, just maybe he’s being given a little time to prove himself. The overriding message? be patient.
I'm patient because it's not all in our control. But only until the news breaks that we are close to signing a player (e.g. Docherty), because that means everyone else will now be looking at that player and we could lose out by being too slow.

You’ve got to be Patient, I think to many people think signing players is the same as it is on football manager

Patient, obviously have things going on from all the reports coming out. Wise choices on 6 month contracts offered just incase they dont pan out. If we get promoted they will be happy to extend. Team are playing well so no ones gonna go straight in to first 11 right away anyhow
