Blackpool exited the FA Cup last night following a comfortable 2-0 win for Championship outfit Reading at Bloomfield Road.

Goals from Lucas Boye and Jordan Obita guided a Royals side showing eleven changes from the team that drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest on Saturday into the fourth round and a home tie with either Cardiff City or Carlisle United.

The Seasiders started the game poorly and failed to muster a shot on target in a woeful first-half display. They improved after the break, forcing a couple of decent saves from Reading keeper Sam Walker but the loss leaves Simon Grayson’s men without a win since they beat Fleetwood 3-1 in early December, a run of seven games.

After being amongst the early season pacesetters in League One, they have since slipped to thirteenth in the table and face a tricky trip at the weekend to take on an improving Lincoln side that slammed five past Bolton last night.

Many Blackpool fans are losing patience with Simon Grayson, and they were not slow to voice their opinion when they took to social media to react to the result. Plenty of supporters were critical of his tactics and perceived uninspiring demeanour, and it is clear the pressure is mounting on the former Sunderland boss.

Here is a selection of responses to the latest defeat on Twitter.
